NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB:
The purpose of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is to provide needed behavior analysis and develop behavior support plans for students with disabilities.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Abide by Board policies and other state and federal regulations concerning students with disabilities.
- Conduct functional behavioral assessments. Design, implement, and monitor behavior intervention plans for individual students with behavioral needs. - Provide professional learning and coaching to administrators, educators, and paraprofessionals on the implementation of behavioral interventions and supports and appropriate record maintenance. - Consult with and provide guidance for parents/guardians in developing behavior interventions for the home and connect families with community resources. - Provide consultation, development, and intervention regarding behavior management, effective education and assessment of specific behaviors. - Participate in special education meetings and assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of intervention strategies. - Analyze available data. Assist with writing goals and objectives within the behavioral domain for IEPs. - Support and maintain appropriate records. - Oversee data collection, consistent implementation of behavior plans, and progression of behavior plans. - Maintains confidentiality of information concerning colleagues, students, and parents.
OTHER FUNCTIONS: - Participates in professional activities as part of the teaching assignment. - Ensures professional growth through conferences, workshops, in-services and related professional readings. - Performs any other duties assigned by supervisor(s).

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: - Must possess a Wyoming State Teaching Certificate – Special Education or related service degree and experience preferred. - Must possess a valid Wyoming Drivers License. - Must possess a Master’s Level Board Certified Behavior Analyst certificate.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND MENTAL ABILITY: - Possess a broad general knowledge of all subject areas with specific knowledge needed in contract areas. - Possess group dynamics and interpersonal skills. - Possess knowledge of physiological, psychological, emotional, and educational behavioral development of children. - Possess classroom developmentally appropriate management skills which include discipline as well as record keeping and assessment abilities. - Possess technological and computer skills. - Possess problem solving, imagination, patience, reasoning, creativity, judgement, and analytical abilities. - Possess a general knowledge of Federal Special Education Law.
EDUCATION, LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, OR FORMAL TRAINING: - Possess all certificates required for the State of Wyoming. - Possess at a minimum a Master’s Degree. - Continue to pursue classes for professional growth.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: - Be able to stand, walk, and sit for long periods without fatigue or discomfort. - Be able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry a distance of 100 feet. - Be able to carry up to 15 pounds for a distance of 1,000 feet. - Be able to work at a computer monitor at least part of each day without fatigue or discomfort.
